Introduction to Global Child Health Elective
This elective course is offered twice per year  (Spring & Fall) to Children’s National Health Systems (CNHS) residents, fellows, faculty and staff. All disciplines are welcome to attend. The course is sponsored by the Pediatric Residency Program and the CNHS Global Health Initiative.  Through case discussions and interactive didactic presentations, global child health topics, such as malaria, malnutrition, rheumatic heart disease, pneumonia and HIV are covered.  Speakers from local entities such as USAID, Save the Children and JSI routinely contribute to the course.  The field experience of those who have spent varying lengths of time practicing medicine, working in public health and crafting child health policy abroad is shared.
